I began my handpan journey over 10 years ago while studying a Bachelor of Music, shaping and spinning raw shells for an Australian maker to add some extra income. Curiosity quickly took over and I become completely absorbed in the instrument, drawn to its harmonics and overtones which reminded me of the colors and sounds of our local state forests and coastline. Growing up in the northern rivers surrounded by rhythm and creativity, it felt natural to eventually create something of my own. After years in practice and dedication, I'm proud to present Octopan my line of handpans, born here in the Byron Shire, available now to order now.
